It is important for residents to stay informed about Housing Development projects underway in Harding Township and the implications for our community way of life. The goal of NFTH is to communicate with residents and to advocate for transparency from our Township Committee as options are evaluated for development in our town.
On Wednesday 10/15, the Township Committee passed all resolutions and ordinances without any substantive commentary. The meeting concluded in 20 minutes. A summary of the resolutions follows:
Resolution TC 25-162 authorized Harding Township to enter into a Developer’s Agreement with S/K Mt. Kemble Associates (KRE) for the 96-unit townhouse project on Route 202 at the northern border with Morris Township. The agreement includes approval from Morris Township’s boards to allow access through an adjacent office complex in Morris Township.
Also on the agenda was Ordinance 09-2025 (First Reading), which amends the AHO-2 Affordable Housing Overlay Zone for 1103 and 1105 Mt. Kemble Ave. to reflect a settlement with the developer. Key changes include:
• Density increased to 10 units per acre
• Residential-only use permitted (no commercial use required)
The First Reading places the ordinance on record; public comment will be heard at the Second Reading next month.
The next TC meeting is November 10th at 7PM. Please plan to attend if you want to comment on either of these ordinances.
