The Tunis Ellis house is the 1795 structure at the corner of Village and Millbrook roads. Significant deterioration has been revealed by a $10K study of the building. About $68K of work on the foundation is needed immediately and a total of $200K is required over the long term. The all-volunteer Harding Historical Society is asking for help from Township engineer Paul Fox to review the bids. The funds for the work would be raised from private sources and Morris County.
