Hesna Pfeiffer Award for Civic Engagement for 2022 Goes to Susan Sameth

At the March TC meeting, Dr Louis Lanzerotti presented the annual Hesna Pfeiffer Award on behalf of the Harding Township Civic Association to Susan Sameth. Dr. Lanzerotti said that Ms. Sameth “exemplifies a life of service to Harding Township, and to a multitude of organization and people in the Harding region.” A registered nurse, Sameth has been an essential member of the HT First Aid Squad serving as a lieutenant, captain, vice president and president. She and her husband have donated generously to the Morristown Medical Center and the Emergency Department, that handle 100,000 cases per year is named for them.
She has served other organizations as well – Birth Haven, Newton NJ; Christ the King Parish; “backpack food program” of the Catholic Charities in Paterson. Her extensive volunteer work has been recognized formally by Christ the King parish, Tri County Scholarship Fund and Catholic Charities. The Hesna Pfeiffer Award for Civic Engagement is named for Thumbnails long time editor who was taken from us too soon several years ago. Plaques, with the names of all past awardees, are on the wall at the entrance to Kirby Hall.
